Plant Cuttings Swap | May 26

Advance registration is required. Join in the fun and sharing with other plant lovers! Whether you're a plant newbie or already have a houseful of greenery, there's always something for everyone!

$15 covers materials and coordination costs. Please bring at least three cuttings (it's okay if they're all from the same plant). But remember, the more cuttings you bring, the more you get!

Getting a plant cutting is simple, and does not hurt your plant (think of it like giving it a haircut!).

  1. It’s best to take a clipping from a fully hydrated plant, so consider watering the plant the night before and taking a clipping in the morning when it has had a chance to absorb the water.
  2. Clip healthy growth that is 3-6” long. Use a sharp tool and make a clean cut to encourage healthy roots (they won’t grow as well when smooshed and are more prone to infection).
  3. Remove the leaves on the lower half of the cutting.

It's okay to bring fresh cuttings to the swap--no need to wait for them to grow roots for the purpose of sharing!
